Sewing Projects for Barn House Market

The guys at Barn House Marketplace are absolutely amazing. I desperately love everything they do.
I got a call from Joe the other day asking me to sew up a few things for his upcoming show. July 30... if you are local (Battle Ground, WA) - GO - you will not be sorry! I am in awe and never have enough money!

Here's Joe's order!
18 Kitchen Towels - He finds some cool most random fabric and has me sow them up into something totally adorable. I am sure you can find the same type of stuff at garage sales, Value Village, GoodWill or the Army (that was just for Cassidy!)2 Pillow Coverings - These were king size that he had me so into squares!
~ TIP ~ I NEVER pay full price for pillow forms. I go to Value Village, GoodWill, or the Army (ha Cassidy!) and find throw pillows with zippers. Purchase them for less than $3 and throw away the cover. Bring a good sniffer - make sure you can handle the smell of your pillow BEFORE you buy it! -- pass it on!

Love of the Kitchen

I think subway are is really kind of cool. (Yes... I just said cool!) I love the way some people have to tilt their head to read... it just makes me laugh!

In any kitchen, there is always so much to make, taste and clean up! It is the best thing in the world when you have friends who LOVE to bake! So many very tasty things have come out of Jenn S and Keri's home! I love grazing through their kitchens!
~ TIP ~ I LOVE ribbon, but (and this is a BIG BUT) it gets expensive. Here's what I found... JoAnn sales a lot of their ribbon for around $3 a spool. Most spools have 3-4yards per spool. And it NEVER goes on sale. On the other hand, Michaels sales a lot of their super cute ribbon for about $3 a spool, BUT (another big BUT), their spools have 10 yards per spool. AND it often goes on sale!!! -- pass it on!

PARTIAL KIT:
$10 for ribbon, vinyl, buttons and flower
white or off white vinyl
(excludes paper and frame)

COMPLETED PROJECT:
$18 Just tell me what color

HOW TO ORDER:

Cleaning the Spice Cupboard

I got so frustrated with my spice cupboard that I tore in to it. Seriously... I have three Cumin (which I think smells like dirty armpits!), and four Cinnamons. SERIOUSLY!
We live in the NW (and LOVE IT!) where we have WINCO (a beloved grocery store). It is the cheapest store with a wonderful bulk sections. Now, there are some groceries that I am VERY particular on brand names. And the others... I have bigger things to worry about. So... I buy bulk.
I was at the grocery store this weekend and picked up the containers that are right under the seasonings for $1.32/container. They are 6" tall. PERFECT! I am a cheap lady (insert comment here!)
And the best part of the whole thing... I could make them go with my kitchen! Now my spice cupboard is All Dahled UP! Hahahaha!!!!
Now you might say... "Jenn... what about the dishwasher?" Well... I made the ribbon a little longer on one side so I can pull it off cleanly and reglue it when it is de-gunked! And the vinyl I have stays on through the dishwasher!

All Things Pumpkin Recipe

You know how some of your friends are into things that just make you chuckle?

Ohhhhh dear dear Shannon. She just delivered her second child about a month ago. However, while she was pregnant she craved all things PUMPKIN! Pumpkin rolls, Costco pumpkin pie, Burgerville pumpkin milkshake, pumpkin... pumpkin... pumpkin. It was awesome! She recently announced that they are moving to Arizona. NOT GOOD! So... Vicki and I created this to help her remember her friends in the Pacific Northwest... rather the Pumpkin Northwest!

What recipe would you display?
