I always struggle with coming up with neat gifts for the men in our life. Seriously? Ties, aftershave, (my hubby hates chocolate... ) Mike & Ikes... well that gets old.
One of the things that I value most in my husband in the priesthood. The most respectable men I know holds and honors their priesthood. In my life, I have been so blessed countless times by the priesthood. So... I created word art to show appreciation for acting in Heavenly Father's name. And now... I share it with you.
Locally is a company called DeWills. They are a cabinet shop. They sale their left over doors for $1 each. So... I bought about FORTY... no... not really kidding. I am now known as the lady who uses "their doors" for crafting purposes... love those guys.
TIP: Find a local cabinet shop!!!! The possibilities are ENDLESS!!!!

Have I Done Any Good in the World Today?
I love love love this quote. President Hinckley said "Generally speaking, the most miserable people I know are those who are obsessed with themselves; the happiest people I know are those who lose themselves in the service of others." So true... so true. I love the miracle that comes with service - If you are down and blue and get out and serve... you get lost ... and find the peace you are searching for. It is like a rescue program for all involved. I just love it!
The glass is rippled! Such a cool find. There is a Habitat for Humanity Resale Store less than five miles from home. They often have cupboard doors for less than $3 each. Just fill the handle holes, paint and your board is All Dahled UP!

~ TIP ~ Use a foam brush, disassemble your flower, paint the tips of the petals or like in this project, paint the tops of the petals, leaving the concave untouched. Let dry and reassemble. -- pass it on!

Moments in our Arms & Forever in our Hearts
Every once in a while you hear of stories of tremendous courage. Incredible tenacity. And are in complete awe of someone testimony of Jesus Christ. My dear friend's sister, was pregnant with twins and lost one... being delivered at 33 weeks. Talmage and Fielding are their names. As I read through her blog - "Love.Joy.Lane" - and a big box of tissues, I am incredible impressed with her outlook and insights.
The other day someone asked her the dreaded question. How many kids do you have? How do you answer that? She asks. She doesn't hide the hurt, she embraces and realizes its place in her life right now. A true latter-day saint! Our prayers are continually with your family, Cyndi! You are an incredible lady, thank you!!!!!
Not only does reading her blog put my problems in perspective, but it is encouraging! Simple, wonderful faith of her and she sweet family. Upon bringing Fielding home, her daughter summed it up best when she said "But I just want that other baby in heaven to come home too!"
My dear friend is going to visit her sister this week. So we sent something along...

Our Trials and Peace...
A friend and I were talking the other day about trials and their necessity in our lives. We discuss what it means to "endure". We agreed that it does not mean to survive by breathing til it is over. During the conversation she came up with this quote...
I love it!!! She also said "the tender mercies of the Lord takes out the randomness of trials." Serious insight huh? I agree with her and thus made one for me and one for her. If you want one... check out my Etsy.

It Is Really All About the Sunday School Answers
I was recently at a Relief Society fireside. It was quite a night. I took so many notes. Our Stake RS President said something that really struck me. She said that "it is really all about the Sunday School answers." It is the basics we need focus. It sounds so simple, but there is always room for improvement. Something that I am seriously striving to be... better!
This piece stands 9" tall x 7" wide. It is in my shop if you are interested!

Families are Forever
Last night a sweet very dear friend of mine called. Her sister who was pregnant with twins lost one. She was at 33 weeks. Ohhhhh... break my heart. She wanted to make something that would remind her sister that Families are together FOREVER! So we put this together. My heart, prayers, and love goes out to their families!

Names of Jesus Christ
So I was playing with the next post. I wanted something a little different. I went looking through my friend's blog Under My Umbrella and found some cute ideas to help.
I have an absolutely fantastic mother-in-law. She is a wonderful lady and an AWESOME grandma. She calls just to talk to the kids and they LOVE her. It was her birthday on Saturday. I am a little slow getting it to her... but hey... it is super cute, huh?
Copy the above picture into word and print on your burlap!

Establish A House of GOD
I haven't blogged in a couple days... SO BUSY! I was asked to provide the "simple" decorations for our stake's Relief Society fireside yesterday. Well.... I just don't do simple. Cute, awesome, very cool... but not simple. OOPS! Here is what I came up with...
There was a hexagon table in the middle with four of these... (here is the CRAZY part... I SOLD ALL FOUR OF THESE WHILE AT THE FIRESIDE! with two more sales on the way... I kinda feel bad making money on Sunday.) The wood is 10"x12". I started with the idea from http://undermypolkadotumbrella.blogspot.com/.
and a four long tables coming out from the center. Each table had napkins for cheesecake...
They are double sided. I made the balls too. Look for tutorials on all this stuff this week.
What an incredible experience. Service ROCKS! I told the Stake RS President that I was NOT turning in receipts... :)

We know the scriptures are TRUE
This year's theme for primary is "I know the scriptures are true". I got to thinking about it, and that should be the family's motto this year too.
So... I played with my scroll saw, threw on some dark (using the diluted paint technique) then light paint, little fine sand paper and some vinyl
Ethan wants one for his room. So watch for his SOON!
The KIT is available at my "etsy shop" for purchase to finish however you'd like!

Young Women Values Dress in Pink
Decided that now that Christmas is over, and it isn't time to start on next years Christmas (that is slated for March), I thought I would make something fun. Eric got me a new scroll saw for my "just after Christmas present". Oh how fun! It is available to purchase as an unfinished kit in my "Shop".
